The Human Resource Intern will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s human resource department. The Human Resource Intern is responsible for the clerical needs of the department as it pertains to recruiting, employee relations, payroll, benefits and training, direct, and coordinate the administrative functions of an organization. The Human Resource Intern will play an integral role in the day-to-day processes that maintain the high standards our internal customers have come to expect. The Human Resource Assistant will work from and report directly to the Human Resource Manager in the Livonia office. Thank you for considering employment with Midway Dental Supply.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
Provides clerical support to the HR department.
May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks.
May assist with new hire orientation.
Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
May assist with the recruitment process for employees using standard recruiting procedures.
Provides necessary materials to managers and employees including, manuals, employee handbooks, and standardized reports.
Protects the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company Human Resources policies, governmental laws and regulations.
Provides support to the Human Resource Manager and to the Human Resource Generalist.
Performs other related duties and HR projects as assigned.
