Description
This position provides highly skilled technical work including, but not limited to, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, updating network configuration, networked PC’s, peripheral equipment and related software.
This position reports directly to the Technical Services Assistant Director.

Applications will be screened. Those qualified will be invited to participate in an oral interview. Candidates must successfully pass the oral interview by a score of 70% or better in order to proceed in the process.
Major Duties
- Administer continuous operation of Windows and IP network, including troubleshooting, repairs, security, backups, updates, DHCP, and DNS.
- Conduct the installation and configuration of servers, switches, hardware and software.
- Implement and maintain network server security (Windows), software security permissions, and user profile security.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend purchases of computers, network hardware, and peripheral equipment, configures and maintains personal computers and other related equipment to include software and periodic updates.
- Maintain site licenses for departments/organization.
- Serves as technical liason between outside organizations, government agencies and vendors.
- Develops and conducts hardware and software training for system users.
- Maintains effective reporting tools for departments/organization.
- Reviews, analyzes and customizes software applications where applicable and as needed.
- Monitors web-based system software to assist with performance measures.
- Maintain and record inventory and vendor agreement terms for pc’s, printers, and other peripheral devices.
- Documents network problems and resolutions for future reference.
- Installs, updates, administers and customizes databases as needed.
- Creates documentation and procedures as needed.
- Performs administrative and help desk support duties for the department as needed.
- Performs related duties as required or as directed.
- Serves as a backup to SGTV Program Coordinator.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent with formal or vocational education or training in information technology.
- Must have experience in the installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of network components, PC workstations, and peripheral equipment.
- Ability to review and understand technical documents and manuals.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Must be capable of reading and interpreting network diagrams and electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Must Possess advanced PC skills that include, but are not limited to, activities related to hardware, software and data entry.
- Must possess and maintain a valid State of Michigan Driver’s License.
