The Communication and Media Studies (CAMS) Department at Northern Michigan University seeks an Instructor or Assistant Professor to join our faculty for a three year term appointment, beginning fall 2020. Primary responsibilities include teaching introductory courses in communication (e.g., public speaking, interpersonal communication, and/or small group process) and media studies (e.g., introduction to mass media). Ability to teach more advanced courses (e.g., new media literacy, environmental communication) or courses in one’s area of specialization is desirable. Other responsibilities include departmental service and academic advising. This is a campus-based position.
Appointment at the Instructor level requires an MA in Speech, Communication Studies, or a related field; appointment at the Assistant Professor level requires completion of the PhD. Prior teaching experience is required.
