Job Description This position requires sound technical knowledge and expertise related to the functional area of responsibility. GM's Systems Engineering Organization is seeking a dynamic, experienced engineer to be a part of its feature planning management team. It offers an exciting opportunity to organize and plan the organization's deliverables/activities for new vehicle programs as they progress through AVDC and into the engineering execution phase. The Feature Planning Manager (FPM) will be engaged with the program teams as representatives of the Systems Engineering Organization. Candidates should have a strong background in the vehicle development process, program management, and the ability to collaborate with a cross functional team. Candidates must be comfortable dealing with ambiguity, championing change, and working effectively in a fast-paced evolving environment. FPM Responsibilities * Create, document, store, and update FPM owned processes in an evolving organization. * Drive results while simultaneously creating the processes and templates. * Represent SE as primary interface into program team meetings; such as VAPIR, PET, and workgroups. * Grow and manage relationships with program team and all stakeholders. * Lead development of SE scope and objectives for programs. * Obtain and Communicate program description documents to the SE Organization. * Work with the vehicle program teams in the development of Bill of Features for assigned program. * Drive development and achievement of SE deliverables per the program plan * Coordinate internal resources for the flawless execution of projects * Provide status of SE deliverables to Program Team leadership (FTS, STS, System DFMEA, etc.) through the Functional Readiness Valves. * Communicate changes to program scope, timing, and imperatives. * Lead SE impact assessment to change requests and decision notices.
