Job Description As we move towards our ZERO ZERO ZERO vision for the future, we are looking to add hardworking individuals to our Chassis and Active Thermal Management (CATM) team! On this team, we contribute to that vision by managing the System End-to-End evaluation tasks. This includes electronics and software, which manipulate the hardware. As a Chassis Lead Systems Validation Engineer (LSVE) you will serve as the single point validation contact, responsible for Knowledge Management relative to all aspects of validation for the Systems and Features related to CATM. The Chassis LSVE role provides opportunities to apply a wide range of engineering skillsets (Electrical, Software, Mechanical, FMEA, Analysis, Integration, and Program Management) to develop robust Feature & System validation plans. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with several System Management Engineering Teams, Development Teams, Suppliers, Supplier Quality, Virtual Design, Development, and Validation or VDDV (Analysis), Powertrain, Milford Proving Grounds Technical Specialists and Program Teams. The Chassis Lead Systems Validation Engineer position also provides opportunities to develop and apply a high level of project management, interpersonal and communication skills to effectively and transparently communicate status and recovery plans for the validation achievements. Your Responsibilities: * Transform Requirements from the Feature/System into Verification & Validation (V&V) procedures * Participate in system DFMEA, and Fault Tree Analysis. * Responsible for the development of the System End-to-End definition (i.e., understand all electronics, software and hardware required to execute the System) * Support Validation Tech Specialists (TIE) in development of validation methodology for the system requirements * Responsible for the development of the System End-to-End V&V Plan * Integrate and optimize the V&V sub-plans from other Analysis, Development & Validation (ADV) departments. * Develop Test Case scenarios for Feature/System Validation activities * Execute Validation Test Cases on Electrical Bench / Vehicle * Perform Project Management of the System ADV, including status reports for Validation Program Reviews * Support Shared Property Usage Requests for the program, and support Pre-Production Property Requests (PPPR) for timely submission to Pre-Production Operations (PPO) * Lead and provide direction to resolve System V&V issues * Mentor Component & Sub-System Validation Engineers (CVE / SVE) Additional Job Description Required Qualifications: * Good understanding of the Vehicle Braking System * 5-10 years' experience in relevant area (validation/design/release /development) preferably for Chassis Components * Strong Project Management experience * Outstanding interpersonal and relationship leadership skills to optimally communicate and collaborate with varying levels of the organization as needed * Understanding of engineering theory and principles regarding Electrical, Software, and Mechanical * Analytical ability to attack problems that are very unusual and extremely difficult, comfortable with ambiguity * Demonstrates strong integrity to work independently and effectively with others * Knowledge of engineering software and systems as it pertains to job-related area * Interest and ability in systems integration * Ability to translate lesson learned into validation plans Education and/or Training * Bachelor of Science in Engineering (required) * Master of Science in Engineering (preferred) * DFSS Green Belt, Black Belt About GM Our vision is a world with Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions and Zero Congestion and we embrace the responsibility to lead the change that will make our world better, safer and more equitable for all.
