Delta College is seeking faculty members committed to the college’s philosophy that education serves the greater good by providing students access to a better life. - Demonstrate ability to relate to a variety of constituents along with solid pedagogy skills that promote learning.

- Demonstrate a philosophy of teaching that provides learning opportunities that meet the needs of all students.
- Establish and promote an engaging and inclusive learning environment to maximize student learning in both face-to-face and online classroom environments
- Focus on supporting and assessing student learning and academic achievement to promote student success.
- Must actively support student retention initiatives that promote program completion.
- Develop innovative, dynamic, and engaging learning environments that support student learning and success.
- Collaborate voluntarily and enthusiastically with colleagues in the academic discipline and with other faculty colleagues to develop effective learning experiences for a diverse student body.
- Demonstrate an understanding of and appreciation for diversity based on the college’s commitment do belonging, equity, diversity and inclusion
- Serve the community through outreach activities.
- Commit to ongoing educational and professional growth.
- Engage fully in course, discipline, program development, curriculum development and assessment.
- Attend and actively participate in discipline, division, and college meetings.
- Demonstrate capability to use a learning management system to deliver course material.
- Demonstrate teaching effectiveness which supports student learning and encompasses pedagogies for student success to meet course and/or program requirements.
- Work in a variety of settings which promote quality learning.
- Maintain professional development to assure currency within field of practice.
- Possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Have availability to work evenings, weekends, and spring/summer.

Required Qualifications |
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology, Physical Education, Human Performance, Kinesiology, Nutrition, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years (4,000 hours) equivalent work experience.
- Personal Training Certification or Group Fitness Instructor Certification.
- Demonstrated commitment to collegiality.
- We are particularly interested in candidates whose research and/or course delivery will be informed by issues of race, gender, marginalized groups, and equity, supported by experience from professional practice that connects with these area(s).
