Commercial Director - Regional Accounts

Position Overview:
The Commercial Director - Regional Accounts will lead a team of Account Managers and Associates to develop and execute a sales strategy with accountability for exceeding customer satisfaction expectations while meeting gross margin and profit objectives. This position will ensure that the account's strategic objectives are aligned with overall Amcor Rigid Plastics North American objectives. Working internally with R&D, Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, and Finance leaders, this position is responsible for assuring the appropriate processes, communications, and support structures are in place and executed to achieve the day-to-day, annual, and 3-5-year objectives of the account(s).
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Develop deep and lasting relationships with the account(s) to enable effective and timely communication and collaboration while ensuring customer satisfaction and account continuity
Develop and implement strategic growth plans
Provide active leadership and oversight to a team of Account Manager's and Associates, including goal setting, continuous performance management, and individual development planning/execution
Facilitate and model cross-functional cooperation to proactively address customer needs and issues while representing the voice-of-the-customer
Develop and execute RFP and day-to-day negotiations with key customer stakeholders while actively managing the account P&L including capital requirements, cost recovery, and account leakages
Ensure broader market opportunities/risks and trends are identified and alternative courses of action are developed and implemented when necessary
Identify, develop and sell the value proposition for new product and service opportunities
Lead cross-functional teams and work with internal stakeholders to deliver customer projects and manage the day to day functions of the account
Cultivate an environment of safety, high performance, and ethical and legal compliance; address employee relations issues
Drive the ongoing development and adoption related to new/improved processes, tools/software, and data hygiene to unlock/sustain smart application of Commercial team's time and effort
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering or related field
Minimum 7-10 years of successful sales and marketing experience, preferably with a complex, national account in the packaging industry
Outstanding communicator - spoken, written, presentation; capable of presenting to high-level audiences and adjusting communication approach based on a variety of scenarios
Must be competitive, accountable, and have strong leadership and negotiation skills, a relentless work ethic, and charisma
Proven track record leading a sales team and driving growth and accountability
Ability to think beyond the next quarter and plan in accordance with the company's broader strategic objectives
Ability to analyze the account, next-best alternatives, and external factors to identify and proactively seize/mitigate opportunities and risks
Skilled in the use of standard word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software
Travel 25%
