Job Title: Court Supervisor
Reports to: Membership & Marketing Director
Compensation: $9.65 per hour and FREE YMCA Membership
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Court Supervisor provides weekend and evening supervision of the gymnasium, racquetball/paddleball courts and indoor track. This position is responsible for effectively communicating YMCA rules and policies to members and guests of all ages in order to provide a safe and pleasant experience for everyone using our facility.
JOB DETAILS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide overall supervision of the basketball, racquetball/paddleball courts, indoor track and other 2nd floor designated workout areas
- Walk the track to ensure proper behavior from all participants in all locations upstairs
- Be visible and available to members and guests to answer questions and address concerns delivering exceptional customer service to all patrons
- Adhere to and ensure compliance with all YMCA rules and policies including safety and cleanliness standards.
- Attend staff meetings and trainings. Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
- Model the YMCA’s core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility and relationship-building skills in all interactions representing the Dow Bay Area Family YMCA in a professional manner
- Assist in taking responsibility for all equipment and supplies used during the shift and cleaning up after all activities in order to help maintain a clean facility
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 18 years of age
- Prior experience supervising or coaching preferred
- Ability to engage with diverse populations
- Must be confident and comfortable professionally addressing members and guests regarding YMCA rules and policies in order to maintain a safe and organized environment in the gym area, courts, indoor track, and fitness facility during peak hours of operation
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certified or able to obtain within 30 days of hire
