The Consumers Energy video team produces videos for internal and external use, including social media, marketing, live events, employee education and more. The Video Production Specialist utilizes in-depth and broad professional knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of video production to add value to our customer experience while delivering excellent service to internal clients. Assignments range from critical and sensitive to creative and engaging.
•Developing creative, dynamic, informative and engaging videos to tell our company's story.
•Perform all aspects of video production, including script writing, scheduling, location scouting, sound, lighting, directing, live-action filming, digital animation, post-production, approvals, distribution and analytics.
•Support internal clients to help translate complex information into concise, easy to understand messages for broader audience.
•Collaborate with and manage customers, frontline employees, senior management and outside production vendors.
•Research and implement cutting-edge video production tools, techniques and approaches.
•Meet aggressive deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced, dynamic, customer and team-oriented work environment.
•Must be self-motivated, organized and have the ability to work independently, with little or no supervision, as well as part of a larger team.
•Travel within Lower Peninsula up to 25% of the time; sometimes with little notice and potentially on weekends.
•Bachelor's degree (video production, marketing or communications preferred)
•Must have extensive shooting experience with digital video cameras, editing experience with non-linear editing software and working knowledge of Adobe After Effects.
•Strongly prefer experience with graphic design, writing, creative pitching, animation, advertising, drone videography, 360 camera and/or social media.
•Must be able to lift 35 lbs unassisted, climb stairs, drive a van (NEED GUIDANCE - see and hear well enough to edit and observe, able to put together variety of equipment)

Plan and produce video projects, often in parallel, to tell our company's story and inspire results.
Analyze requests to make professional recommendations on audience, channel, style and content.
Formulate procedures, policies and guidelines for assigned communications programs.
Travel throughout the state to capture video footage at various company and customer locations.
Develop alternative strategies based on analysis and research in an assigned specialty area.
Act as a liaison with other agencies, organizations and employees to coordinate communications plans.
Perform related work as assigned.
