SUMMARY
This position creates detailed drawings for use in the manufacture of IMPCO products and services. The position generates detailed plans, drawings and other documents for the manufacture of IMPCO’s product line base on our customer’s needs. The Detailer works closely with engineers and shop personnel.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop detail drawings to specify the exact detailing requirements for fabricating each individual member (or "piece") of a structure which are used to fabricate products.
• Complete drawings show material specifications, member sizes, all required dimensions, bolting, surface preparation and finishing requirements, and any other information required to describe each completed item.
• The detailer must ensure compliance with the requirements of the design drawings and with all industry standards and protocols, such as those established by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC).
• This position submits drawings to the engineers for review prior to the release of drawings for fabrication.
• Generate tag list based on electrical and fluidic drawings.
QUALIFICATIONS
• The job requires knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired through the completion of a two-year college degree program such as an Associate’s Degree in Drafting or a combination of education and relevant work experience.
• A minimum of two to three years of detailing experience.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED
• Excellent technical & time management skills.
• Excellent computer skills with a focus on AutoCad 2D, Solidworks 3D, or related systems.
• Knowledge of and ability to update drawings within Eplan is a plus.
• General knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Microsoft Excel.
• Solid communication (oral and written) and listening skills.
• Ability to be self-motivated and accountable.
• Well organized.
