POSITION SUMMARY:
The Shuttle Driver, under the direction of the Motorpool Manager, is responsible for ensuring efficient and courteous service to and from Kewadin Casinos for all our guests. The position must provide attentive, cheerful, courteous, professional customer service to all customers, both internal and external, striving to always exceed their expectations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)
- Supplies transportation for our guests to and from their hotels to the casino.
- Pre-trips and cleans company vehicles.
- Answers office phone and supplies people with vehicles when needed
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)
- Dispatching shuttles.
- Supplies transportation for our guests to and from the airport.
- All other job related duties as assigned.
CONTACTS:
Immediate peers, peers in other departments, immediate supervisor/manager, managers in other departments, executives, Board of Directors, customers, outside vendors/service providers and Federal, State and local law enforcement officials.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Position heavy with lifting of 100 pounds maximum with dual lifting and frequent lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds. Physical factors include constant sitting and driving, use of hearing, near/midrange/far and color vision, depth perception and field of vision; frequent use of smell and occasional standing, walking, carrying up to 50 pounds, lifting/pushing/pulling up to 100 pounds, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching, typing, and ending. Working conditions include constant exposure to weather; frequent exposure to extreme heat/cold, wet/humidity, and noise and air quality. Potential hazards include exposure to moving mechanical parts, electric shock, chemicals, infectious exposure and equipment.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: One year experience transporting passengers preferred.
Certification/License: Must have a chauffer’s license. Must have a valid driver license and be insurable by the Sault Tribe Insurance Department. Must comply with annual driver license review and insurability standards with the Sault Tribe Insurance Department. Will be required to complete and pass pre-employment drug testing.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must know the location of all the hotels in the area. Must stay up to date with all events and promotions at Kewadin Casino. Must be able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with supervisor personnel, coworkers and the general public. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must have a friendly attitude. Must be able to work alone or in a group. Must have the ability to learn and have good communication skills. Must be able to be on call 24/7. Must be able to work flexible hours. Native American preferred.
