Requirements:
- Has undergone a physical examination, by a licensed physician, that documents capability to perform required duties
- Has an electronic fingerprint clearance from a criminal history record check
- 18 years of age or older
- Ability to interact with students and adults in a positive and appropriate manner
- Ability to communicate electronically, read and process appropriate work orders
Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Maintenance Generalist:
The goal of the position a/General Maintenance with the Mt. Pleasant Public Schools is to maintain the buildings and grounds in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use may be made of them at all times. General maintenance staff will perform general repairs, preventative maintenance and groundskeeping duties.
- Maintains a high standard of safety, cleanliness and efficiency in all maintenance and repair projects
- Consults and collaborates with other maintenance staff and specialist to complete projects and meet deadlines
- Performs grounds keeping, snow removal and emergency response as assigned and in a timely manner
- Responds to maintenance requests and maintains appropriate documentation, records and reports
- Completes preventative maintenance repairs and installations that comply with health and safety standards for all students and staff
- Maintains school buildings and grounds to ensure full productive use of all District facilities
- Attends and completes ongoing trainings and professional development relevant to the position of maintenance generalist
- Provides reliable attendance and reports to assigned job tasks in a timely manner
- Completes other duties as assigned by Director of Facilities or designee
- Experience and ability with basic maintenance and bundling repair skills
- Examples include tasks such as changing ceiling lights, trimming & fitting new ceiling tiles, fixing door hinges, replacing toilet paper/paper towel holders, installing pencil sharpeners,
- Painting throughout the district; tough ups, trims
Preferred Qualifications:
- Have or be able to obtain to help with emergency bus runs
- Class A or B CDL with S and P endorsement along with an air brake
- Pass state required Physical exam and drug
- State required fingerprinting, driver's license and back ground
- Attend and compete a State safety education class, written and driving skill
Salary: Starts at $16.31 based on experience and as part of the MPTA Contract
