CLASSIFICATION:
SUMMARY:
This individual performs all Teller, Level I & II duties proficiently, and is responsible for providing excellent customer service, accurately completing both routine and complex transactions, assuming vault teller operational tasks and acting as a back-up to the Customer Service Representative. Two years of teller experience required for this position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Possess extensive knowledge of Bank products and policies, and act as a resource for other tellers.
- Assume duties of head teller as needed, such as training new employees and creating the line staff schedule.
- Effectively cross-sell Bank products and act as back-up for the Customer Service Representative.
- Open, maintain and close retail and commercial deposit accounts, CDs and IRAs.
- Comply with all requirements, policies and procedures of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and attend all mandatory BSA training as needed for this position. Additionally, complete all required compliance and regulatory training, not limited to BSA.
- Assume and accomplish other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Numerical aptitude, accurate typing, computer and calculator skills necessary. Requires cash handling ability and excellent communication skills.
- Individual must be reliable and willing to learn and accept new responsibilities. Must handle a variety of situations/duties simultaneously and effectively. A thorough understanding of First Bank products and services is necessary and a sales-oriented nature is preferred.
- Professionalism must be exhibited and confidentiality respected at all times.
OTHER WORK:
- Assist officer(s) in all capacities including customer service administrative duties, preparation of correspondence and Bank functions, project fulfillment and other management-related administrative and clerical duties.

REQUIRED/PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Two years of teller experience required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a professional office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Position may require individual to perform repetitive motion in operating equipment such as keyboard, calculator or other bank/office-related machinery. While performing duties the employee may have to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Position requirements may be, but are not limited to, walking, standing, sitting, bending, talking, hearing and communicating. The physical demands are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured required if driving.
- Position requires attendance at meetings.
- Some travel is expected for this position. However, travel is primarily local and during the business day.
- Employees are responsible for the upkeep/organization of their work area and in cooperation with others in shared
areas.
