We currently have several openings for Operations Supervisors at our fast-paced, team-focused, unionized manufacturing facility located in Fremont, Michigan.  All shifts are available and preferences will be taken into account, but flexibility will be prioritized.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership

-Manage day to day operations of the business unit to assure collaboration of shifts and guarantee smooth transitions.

-Provides leadership/direction to hourly employees by leading by example and being a role model.

-Ensure teams are properly trained and following approved processes to facilitate the manufacturing of quality goods based on accepted practices, regulatory requirements, and/or company policies.

-Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety, and moral to achieve production goals.

-Good interpersonal skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to facilitate and coach in a manner that engages your team to achieve departmental goals.

-Good problem solving skills. Must be able to identify cause and affect relationships and utilize data to make the right decisions.

Continuous Improvement

-Identify, recommend, develop and implement improvements in safety, quality, processes, costs and SOP documentation.

-Help identify long term opportunities and solutions for continuous improvement. Promote open communications between shifts and departments, and develop a team work approach.

-Maintain housekeeping, sanitation and safety through employee involvement and adherence to the -Departments 5S standards/initiatives.

-Actively support and participate in facility’s TPM/Continuous Improvement efforts.

-Set ambitious objectives and motivate the shift to achieve them.

Assure Quality

-Develop, maintain and empower a quality conscientious attitude among employees.

-Ensure all operations are handled within GMP guidelines.

-Maintain ISO food safety, occupational safety and environmental level facility with a focus on safe work practices and housekeeping programs, as well as maintenance and upkeep of all equipment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

-Must have a BA/BS with 3 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

-3-5 years of progressive experience in leadership roles in a manufacturing environment required.

-Food manufacturing experience along with food processing, aseptic or pharmaceutical experience is highly desirable.

-TPM experience highly preferred.

-Demonstrated ability to utilize a personal computer effectively in a LAN environment

-Proven skill in analytical thinking, understand, technical concepts and problem solving
