POSITION TITLE: Supplemental - Food Service - Front of House
EXPECTED STARTING SALARY: $15.00/hour plus $500 bonus (see compensation section below for more information)
ANTICIPATED START DATE: End of July/Beginning of August 2021
SUMMARY
Performs opening/closing duties for all foodservice locations while providing customer service as needed. This position reports to the Event Supervisor.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATES, AND LICENSES
Required:
• 18 years or older
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED)
• Performs food service opening and closing duties as assigned
• Provides immediate attention to all customers as needed
• Takes food and beverage orders and operates cashier station as assigned
• Clears soiled dishes or to-go food containers as needed
• Cleans and sanitizes all work, service, and dining areas as needed
• Advises supervisor of any guest complaints as soon as they occur
• Attends staff meetings as required
• Additional related duties as assigned by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

COMPENSATION
The hourly wage for this position is temporarily set to $15.00/hour through December 31, 2021. At that time, compensation will be reevaluated. Employees who work through September 21, 2021, will receive a $500 bonus.
BENEFITS
All supplemental employees are eligible for retirement benefits including an employer-provided match through the Michigan Public Schools Employee Retirement System (MPSERS) and paid sick leave.
WORK HOURS
This position will work part-time (maximum of 28 hours per week). This position offers consistent scheduling and flexible work hours with the expectations of some nights and weekends.
