Position Summary
The Kim lab is a new lab in the department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Our research focus is to dissect protein mechanisms by obtaining snapshots of the proteins in action, using a powerful technique known as single particle cryo-electron microscopy. We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to spearhead a project that will analyze the structures and functions of various proteins involved in membrane protein targeting pathways. The successful candidate will use molecular biology and biochemical techniques in addition to cryo-EM to understand the mechanisms of proteins that ensure proper localization of membrane proteins in cells.

This is a one year appointment, which can be renewed upon evaluation at the end of the first year.
Required Degree
Doctorate -Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or relat
Minimum Requirements
PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry or related field; Research experience with cloning, protein expression, and protein purification.
Desired Qualifications
Experience working with membrane proteins and lipids; Background in structural biology and protein-protein interaction study is preferred but not required.
