This position is in our Advanced Manufacturing Technologies group. The objective of the Advanced Manufacturing Technologies group is to bridge the gap between research development and production implementation of new processes, equipment, materials, and automation.
Job Responsibilities will include:
Be the lead person in coordinating technology implementation.
Assist product/process engineers in getting customer approval established on new pieces of equipment, processes, and materials.
Identify, evaluate, and implement new materials for quality and cost improvement.
Assist automation engineers in the design, development, and implementation of robotic cells, by being the product integrity advocate.
Assist in cost justification and RFA preparation for automation projects
Establish and maintain external and internal networks, including Howmet Research Center, external suppliers, and Howmet Aero North locations.
Participate in the development of the 5-year strategy for the advanced manufacturing group and heavily influence the 5-year strategy for individual plants.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
Minimum 7 years of product / process engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution in the following disciplines preferred: Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial.
Experience working in a Casting environment in both production and new production introduction.
Previous internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment or lab environment.
Strong verbal, written, and analytical skills.
Knowledge of MS Office.
Able to work in a self-directed or team environment and have good organizations skills.
Knowledge of Six Sigma, statistical analysis, and scientific methods for problem solving.
