As the Senior Architect, Data Architecture, you'll expand the company's use of data as a strategic enabler of corporate goals and objectives. You'll also partner with internal teams to understand business inquiries, drive requirements, propose solutions and deliver projects that provide our users with relevant, actionable information. What you'll do on a typical day:
Provide expertise in business requirements analysis, database design & entity relationship data modeling
Work with large volume data handling and query performance profiling/optimization/tuning, troubleshooting
Design and build complex ETL, cleansing, and data integration/synchronization processes across information systems
Identifies opportunities to increase accuracy and optimize resources and develops/recommends/implements solutions.
Develops insightful, value-added and actionable analyses with detailed explanations regarding drivers of those results
Composes thorough and detailed written technical documentation, procedures, manuals, etc.
What you need to succeed at XPO:
At a minimum, you'll need:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
Minimum of 2 years' experience in data engineering or a related field
It'd be great if you also have:
Strong understanding of relational data structures, theories, principles, and practices
Experience in both analytical (data warehouse/mart/cube) and transactional processing data environments
Advanced familiarity with one or more of the following: OLTP (SQL Server/Oracle/Informix), OLAP/BI (Informatica/MicroStrategy/PowerBI/Tableau), Big Data (Hadoop, Apache Spark, MapReduce, etc.), NoSQL (couchbase, redis), data streaming, in-memory data management, real-time analytics, cloud data services
