Overall Expectation:
Provide hands-on support to production cells and external customers with technical expertise, excellent service, humility, and a positive collaborative attitude. Our goal is to provide safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing processes that allow our teams to deliver customer products on time, with minimal defects, and utilize the most cost effective methods.
- Responsible for planning (strategic thinking and continuous improvement), implementing (allocating people and resources), inspiring (by vision casting, coaching and modeling), aligning (to quality and culture) for a group of people.
- Develop targets, and then meet or exceed the targets for AOP, operational, people, and financial KPI's targets.
- Ensure timely and proper administration of guidelines and policies of team members.
- Identify and respond to current and future gaps in people needs.
- Onboarding and training team members, ensuring team is trained on standards, systems and tools.
- Continually growing team members using a coaching skill set in one-on-one relationships through providing assessment, challenging thinking & assumptions, supporting & encouraging, and setting & pursuing goals.
- Engage in Ventura's team leader training, implementing what was learned.
- Ensure adherence to corporate rhythms (meetings, huddles, Tiers, etc.). Provide timely, knowledgeable and accurate data to support those rhythms
- Implement permanent corrective action that results in problem resolution and effectively communicate updates with all affected team members.
- Maintain and improve equipment safety through ergonomic and safety controls evaluation.
- Reduce scrap and increase process capability.
- Implement projects that result in process scrap reductions and increased process capability.
- Optimize Direct Labor costs by utilizing labor automation analysis tools and diligently implement new concepts that drive Continuous Improvement.
- Support new business development activities with accurate costs and assumptions (Quoting, prototype, TAKT/Cycle Time...).
- Manage equipment builds as needed to meet cost, timing, and technical requirements.
- Justify annual compensation through implementation of manufacturing cost reductions, continuous improvement, and VA/VE analysis.
Requirements:
- BS in engineering field or significant related experience.
- 5-10 years experience in manufacturing engineering role.
- Preferred Experience:
- Leadership experience
- Experience in project management
- Experience in PLC programming
- Experience across a broad spectrum of manufacturing processes (ie. Assembly, molding, welding, automation, etc.)
- AutoCAD, NFPA, MIOSHA standards
