WNEM, a Meredith Corporation TV station, is recruiting for a Photographer/Editor Temp. The Temp Photographer/Editor gathers news for broadcast, web, and other platforms of the future. The incumbent shoots and edits stories. The Photographer/Editor shoots and edits video of various news events and edits tape of stories/pictures for daily news broadcasts. This position shoots stories in a compelling and brand-focused way to attract the largest audience available to the station's newscasts. This position coordinates photography hardware setup, operation and maintenance as required. The Photographer/Editor coordinates with the production of photography and distribution of digital content as required by photographer. Completes photography assignments including, but not limited to, shooting and editing.
Essential Job Functions:
35% - Performs creative editing of news, weather, and sports materials.
20% - Photographs news, weather, and sports materials.
10% - Sets up and operates lighting equipment.
10% - Operates ENG van and associated equipment
10% - Transmits and records news, weather and sports video and/or audio feeds, including ENG feeds.
10% - Performs limited news gathering functions.
3% - Photographs and edits promotion and public service material.
2% - Performs minor repairs of ENG equipment and cameras.
Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:All must be met to be considered.
Education:
Completion of high school, or equivalent. College degree preferred.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong editing and shooting skills.
Good news gathering skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Non-linear editing.
Operate microwave truck.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Strong on-air presence.
Must possess a valid Driver's license and excellent driving record.
Travel Required:Approximate - 80%
