POSITION / TITLE: Marketing and Creative Coordinator
DEFINITION: This position is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring all tasks regarding marketing, communication, social media and public relations for the Macomb/St. Clair Michigan Works! and the Macomb/St. Clair Workforce Development Board
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Executive Director
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Marketing Specialist and Graphic and Web Specialist
MAJOR DUTIES:
· Develop and implement a marketing and outreach plan to promote and support the programs of Macomb/St. Clair Michigan Works!
· Lead the generation of online content that engages audience segments & leads to measurable action; decide who, where and when to disseminate.
· Manage the development, distribution, and maintenance of all print & electronic collateral including, but not limited to, newsletters & brochures.
· Manage relationships with communications contractors for website administration, design & public relations services.
· Manage all media contacts including press releases for major activities & those of relevant partners in coordination with the Executive Director.
· Maintain strict adherence and compliance to all laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, & internal controls.
· Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
· Coordinate the logistics & promote Macomb/St. Clair Michigan Works! events for career fairs, talent tours, & Workforce Development Board/Administrative meetings, etc.
· Attend meetings as assigned; such as Business After Hours, Chamber Meetings, award recognitions, board meetings, etc.
· Attend state-wide communication user group meetings.
· Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Excellent communication skills are necessary with demonstrated experience in brand management and web design/maintenance.
· The ability to work as part of a team or independently as needed.
· Be able to work well under pressure, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
· The skills to take knowledge and transform it into exciting and useful messages & disseminate it to the right audiences.
· Ability to create professionally written content including strong proofreading and editing skills.
· Perform other relevant duties as assigned from Executive Director
EDUCATION:
· Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in communications, marketing, public relations or related field.
EXPERIENCE:
· Education or professional training in web design/development.
· Experience of three or more years in employment and training related field preferred
· Extensive and progressively responsible experience in public contact work
· Knowledge is required of the scope and purpose of Workforce Development Board administered programs preferred
SALARY: $68,955.06 - $86,194.08
