Summary:
An MFB Hospital Screener will work individually and as part of a team. They will provide entrance screening for Covid 19 at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital Downtown Campus. They will screen vendors, guests, and staff preventing anyone from coming into the Downtown Campus exhibiting symptoms of Covid 19.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Make eye contact and pleasantly greet each patient, visitor, and staff members; maintains a pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with all guest, client, staff members and coworkers to create favorable impressions
- Ensures a safe and secure environment by asking the screening question and taking temperatures
- Protects all hospital guest and staff's confidentiality according to HIPPA requirements.
- Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis.
- Maintains positive appearance and professional image
- Adheres to hospital policies
- Ability to function in an environment with possible exposure to blood borne pathogens or other potentially infectious/hazardous materials, and possible exposure to high or low temperatures as both inside and outside conditions indicate.
- Ability to use communication devices (phones, radios, etc) in a clear, concise and professional manner to meet and exceed the internal and external customer service expectations.

Essential Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Education, and Training Requirements):
- High school diploma or GED
- Customer service experience (Health Care industry preferred)
- Ability to work flexible schedules and extended hours as needed.
- Must have problem resolution skills
- Must have ability to manage multiple priorities and multi-task
- Ability to work in inclement weather (hot or cold)for an entire shift. Note: Shifts will not be cancelled due to inclement weather and all employees will be required to attend their scheduled shifts and maintain a high quality of work despite weather conditions
- Ability to speak, read and write standard English language; to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; to write simple correspondence
- Must be able to apply reasoning and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time up to twelve (12) hours per day
- Ability to sit for long periods of time up to four (4) hours per day while remaining alert and maintaining a high level of professionalism and situational awareness.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include 20/20 corrected vision and have color vision.
- Functional hearing abilities for communicating on a two-way handheld, cellular phone.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
- Bilingual
- Previous Customer Service experience
