Summary
Provide support to all the MFB Network and department with an emphasis on employee relations including administering employment policies and practices, researching and/or investigating concerns and making recommendations that promote positive employee relations. Recommend effective solutions for addressing workplace issues and corrective actions in accordance with policy and applicable laws.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Assist and resolve general employee relations issues
- Provide guidance and recommendation to line leadership, ensure fairness and consistency of policy and practice including coaching, counseling, and process development
- Follow Mary Free Bed's Standards of Behavior and instill in others
- Demonstrate a professional, confident, and positive presence
- Assist in the development of programs meant to promote Employee Engagement and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion to drive satisfaction and inclusion within the organization and retention efforts
- Assist with employee development programs, workforce development initiatives and talent management processes, including but not limited to performance management, employee performance discussions
- Sort and classify correspondence, and complete requested information for Unemployment Insurance Agency claims
- Assist with HR administrative duties, prepare, create, and analyze 90-day evaluations and competency reports/metrics.
- Prepare periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested
- Record, route, and file performance counseling forms
- Send out exit interview request notifications to outgoing employees and schedule exit interviews if required
- Responsible for reviewing Human Resources (employee relations) email inbox and answering employee questions or forwarding to the appropriate team member to respond
Essential Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Education, and Training Requirements)
- Associates Degree, Bachelor's preferred in related field.
- 1 - 3 years of experience in an HR concentration such as employee relations, preferred
- Strong Microsoft office skills and experience with HRIS systems
- Knowledge of employment law, with excellent organizational, time management and decision-making skills
- Patient, pleasant, and understanding, with the ability to remain calm and diffuse tense situations. Handle sensitive and highly personal information on a daily basis, maintain confidentiality in a mature and non-judgmental manner.
- Ability to successfully monitor the "pulse" of employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement.
- Physical Demands: Able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (up to 1/3 of the time); to lift, carry, push, pull, up to 10 pounds occasionally; to sit for the majority of the time, but may involve brief periods of time involving walking or standing; to use keyboard frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time)
