The Product Portfolio Manager is responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the Product Lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue, profitability and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager also ensures that the product supports the company's overall strategy and goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Proactive portfolio management of key portfolio of steel pipe and grooved fittings
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Procurement, and Suppliers to commercialize offerings in to SupplyNet
- Deliver operating plan: the achievement of growth objectives including market share, revenue, profit, and return on investment for key categories and customers
- Complete market research and analyze competitive landscape to ensure that Viking SupplyNet is strategically positioned
- Determine product pricing by utilizing market data; reviewing sales and procurement cots; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders
- Review and recommend inventory levels to optimize product availability and working capital
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending trade shows; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
- Leverage data and analytics to communicate trends including win rate, localized fabrication pricing, competitive positioning, and recommended courses of action
- Proactively recommend programs to maximize volume and margin opportunities for Viking SupplyNet
- Partner with Procurement to develop analysis on competitive positioning on sourced products to ensure competitiveness for SupplyNet
- Review, design, and implement internal processes to ensure adherence to pricing objectives, rebate performance, and compliance.
- Conduct monthly reviews with executive team on the portfolio performance versus budget, prior year, etc.
EXPERIENCE:
- Strong financial acumen
- Cross-functional experience with sales/marketing/suppliers
- Adequate understanding of supplier programs, rebates, and methods of differentiation
- Prior experience with NPD process from product concept through launch
