Controller OST is seeking an innovative, motivated, process-driven Corporate Controller to join our Financial Operations team. Serving as the accounting leader, you will be responsible for the company's reported financial results and ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). You will have responsibility for the overall accounting and treasury operations of the company, including developing and maintaining accounting policies, procedures, process controls, audit coordination, accounts payable/receivable, banking relationships, tax compliance and reporting. You will report directly to the VP of Finance and Operations, and will be responsible for the leadership of other accounting professionals. A day in the life: - Lead, plan and direct the accounting operations at OST while also being hands on and responsible for completing essential accounting tasks.
- Establish, monitor, and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
- Identify and implement efficiencies and improvements in the monthly close, reporting and processes.
- Run an effective and efficient financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes and reporting.
- Responsible for Treasury management and operations.
- Monitor and confirms financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors.
- Business partner that works closely with FP&A, Sales Operations and Contracts.
- Stay current on changes to accounting and tax regulations and implements them accordingly.
- Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
- Achieving budget objectives by reporting on actual results vs. Plan and forecast, identifying areas for potential changes if needed.
- Interpret financial information; perform special studies, financial analysis and models as directed
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
- Responsible for accounts payable and receivable.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related projects and responsibilities as needed, such as acquisition integration and accounting.
- Provides a high degree of accountability, transparency and understanding with respect to financial reporting, accounting, benchmarking, and performance analysis.
What you bring to the table: - Bachelors’ degree in Accounting or Finance
- Certified Public Accountant designation strongly preferred
- At least 10 years of progressive accounting experience; experience as a Corporate Controller or Assistant Corporate Controller strongly preferred.
- Experience in a service or technology organization preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of accounting principles/practices, knowledge of taxing authority regulations and ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
- Proven quick learning curve with ability to rapidly get up to speed on the business and our processes.
- Strong sense of ownership with a willingness to own and do certain tasks and functions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management about the finances of the business and justify certain financial recommendations.
- Strong leadership, mentoring and people management skills.
- Demonstrated experience leading change successfully with a growth mindset for continuous improvement.
- Advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, ERP system (NetSuite)
