POSITION TITLE: Acute Services Specialist (This position will be expected to travel to other counties as needed)
POSITION STATUS: 80 hours biweekly / Regular Full-Time / Marquette Professional Unit / Exempt
SALARY RANGE:
- LMSW/LLP/LPC Pay Scale - $26.17/hr - $32.56/hr (Plus Full-Time Benefits)
- LLMSW Pay Scale - $22.24/hr - $28.74/hr (Plus Full-Time Benefits

RESPONSIBILITIES: This clinician will be an expert consultant to all other Pathways clinicians regarding the negotiation of Person Centered Plans for consumers who are recipients of inpatient psychiatric treatment and intensive services that are an alternative to hospitalization. This clinician will be assigned cases of Pathways consumers admitted to inpatient settings when the recipient has no current assigned clinician. This clinician will have brief treatment relationships that focus on the development of inpatient discharge plans and transfer of recipients to appropriate community services. It is expected that the case responsibility of the Acute Services Specialist will not extend beyond 30 days. The Acute Services Specialist will have broad knowledge of Severity of Illness/Intensity of Service parameters and community support resources for all communities served by Pathways. The Acute Services Specialist will need to be skilled in developing working partnerships with Pathways colleagues across multiple populations, services and locations; will need to communicate clearly and in a timely fashion with inpatient facility staff, recipients, and other relevant stakeholders. This position, due to the acuity and intensity of the services will have to perform work accurately and rapidly. This clinician will also be expected to act as part of the Pathways Crisis Support Services Team with primary duties focused on the monitoring of acute services and discharge planning and secondary duties focused on support to crisis evaluation services and crisis stabilization activity across Pathways. Timely and complete documentation are essential requirements of the position. Participation in the 24-hour, on-call emergency services rotation is required
QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree in Human Services Field. State of Michigan licensure as a Masters of Social Work (LMSW), Limited Licensed Masters of Social Work (LLMSW), Limited Licensed Psychologist (LLP) is required. One year of experience working with persons with mental illness which includes inpatient discharge plan negotiation and / or crisis support services activity preferred.
