We are seeking to recruit a Maintenance Technician to work in their manufacturing plant to repair and maintain, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufacturer's specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as fixtures, apparatus, engines, motors, vehicles, lift trucks, pneumatic tools, hoists, cranes, conveyor systems and production machines and equipment using hand tools, power tools and precision-measuring and testing instruments.
Responsibilities include:
Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools.
Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using rulers,calipers, micrometers and other measuring instruments.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs and straightedges.
Repairs or replaces or reworks defective parts using hand tools and power tools.
Installs special functional and structural parts in devices using hand tools.
Starts devices to test their performance.
Lubricates and cleans parts.
Performs preventive maintenance according to time schedule.
Sets up and operates a lathe, drill press, grinder and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
Initiates purchase orders for parts and machines.
Repairs electrical equipment.
Qualified candidates will possess a one year certificate from college or technical school and at least three years of related experience. Stong electrical and mechanical background necessary.
