The Marketing Specialist is the glue that holds the Communications & External Relations team together and the navigator that keeps us on course. As an integral member of a creative and positive team, this critical staff member will plan, organize, and oversee the hundreds of projects that flow through the department annually. Working with colleagues and external vendors, the Marketing Specialist will promote teamwork between participants, maintain schedules and review projects to ensure budget, scope and creative quality are efficiently achieved. Must be an expert marketer and writer, who will find joy serving the needs and growth of the MFB system.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing hundreds of communications and external relations projects and moving them to completion in an organized manner that enables the effective and efficient use of time and resources while creating distinctive results.
- Knowledgeable about marketing, writing and graphic design principles to ensure projects adhere to Mary Free Bed brand standards and creatively reflect the Mary Free Bed persona
- Administer electronic project request system and oversee status of project inventory
- Advise team on status of projects during weekly meetings and determine if changes are needed to schedule or budget
- Assess scope of projects, assist with research and coordinate resources and team members needed for completion
- Conduct an intake meeting with those submitting projects to clarify goals, understand their creative vision and ensure projects support the strategic plan
- Draft initial copy or secure updated copy
- Collaborate with graphic designer and other stakeholders
- Complete and maintain documentation for projects, progress, results, deliverables, and process improvement opportunities
- Identify and implement effective and efficient processes to streamline current procedures
- Responsible for tracking and providing data to evaluate advertising campaigns
- Compile results of major campaigns and special advertising efforts
- Track marketing questions posed to new patients during admissions
- Create marketing plans in conjunction with key stakeholders
- Annually update Mary Free Bed Marketing Plan based on revised strategic plan
- Update marketing plans for joint-venture partner hospitals and Mary Free Bed outpatient satellite locations
- Serve as a liaison and facilitate meetings between project stakeholders and leadership, as well as communicate with a variety of vendors, contractors, and hospital staff in meetings, written communication, presentations, and conversation
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Essential Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Education and Training Requirements):
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or relevant work experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in the field
- Creative thinker and inventive problem solver
- Effective writer
- Knowledgeable about print, video and digital presentations
- Dynamic with high energy, positive attitude, strong work ethic and lively sense of humor
- Extraordinary organizational skills
- Excellent time manager and scheduler

- Physical Demands:
- Able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (up to 1/3 of the time)
- Able to lift, carry, push, pull, up to 10 pounds occasionally
- Able to sit for most of the time, but may involve brief periods of time involving walking or standing
- Able to use keyboard frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time)
