Responsibilities
Within the Product Development (PD) group of Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) at Dematic, we develop mechatronic subsystems and controls used in our warehouse automation systems and solutions globally. The Mechatronics Controls Manager leads a team of Product Development Controls Engineers to develop new products and provide sustaining support of current controls products used globally in our systems.
Lead and manage a global team of Development Engineers to deliver material handling controls products to internal and external customers.
Participate in the development and implementation of strategic and tactical plans to achieve on-time delivery of products through resource management including outside contractors
Build international partnerships to extend consistent standards during a period of growth and future stability.
Create and maintain a feedback loop for customers at all levels to ensure day to day job tasks are meeting expectations.
Responsible for driving continuous commissioning improvement and lean initiatives.
Maintain culture and external team partnerships across all levels of Dematic to bring team visibility and team engagement.
Project/Product Delivery:
Responsible for ensuring that products are executed by their teams are on schedule and on budget.
Monthly evaluation and reporting of product status.
Accurate monthly forecasting
Establish appropriate tasking
Identify skills gap assessment and appropriate skills assignment
Maintain safety & compliance standards and communication.
Proactively drive capacity planning through innovative demand sourcing.
Issue resolution or conflict resolution.
Financial Accountability:
Awareness of budget plan and ensuring that daily management decision is aligned (training hours, OT, indirect vs direct), proactive mgt.
Awareness of Strategic Plans and what their teams responsibility is for achieving those goals
Managing Team and Individual expenses.
Manages workload to product budgets and risk mitigation.
People Leadership:
Remote Team Leadership at a high scale. Global and regional teams assigned by project.
Talent development - coaching/mentoring.
Lead Performance Improvement Plan initiatives.
OKRs and Goal Setting.
Hire, train, develop and evaluate engineering resources across and outside the company.
Strategic and Tactical Initiatives/Projects:
Driving improvements for the greater of larger department from strategic initiatives.
Process Improvement driver and presentation.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology, Advanced degree a plus
Knowledge and Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience and 5 years engineering management experience.
Experience with multi-site engineering management
Required experience: Material Handling Industry Experience required, Product Development Experience, Controls Technology Exposure (but not necessary to be EE, could be strong mechatronics experience also).

Travel up to 25% to the customer site, other Dematic offices or identified locations for meetings, training and business needs.
