DEPARTMENT SUMMARYThe qualified candidate will work as an Engineer within the GAM Compression Engineering Group - which is based in Jackson, MI. The Compression Engineering Group is responsible for the overall integrity and strategic planning for 7 compressor stations. This position will report to the Compression Reliability Engineering Manager, with some travel required throughout Michigan. The candidate must have a strong engineering background while demonstrating strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. The individual should desire to learn, grow and should be highly adaptable. Experience working with contractors, field operations personnel, problem solving, and computer skills are essential. The ideal candidate will have knowledge in natural gas fired reciprocating internal combustion engines and compressors as well as gas processing and piping. The candidate will provide a critical support liaison between engineering and field operations and will offer a mixture of field and office related tasks.JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBLITIESThe primary role of the Sr. Reliability Engineer will be to ensure safe and reliable operations of engines/ compressor units and support operations and projects in the Gas Compression area of the business. This role will be responsible for providing support to project managers related to the planning and execution of capital and maintenance projects for both our Freedom and Northville, MI Compression Stations. This role is responsible for ensuring adherence to design standards and that detailed designs meet all applicable compliance and regulatory requirements. The Reliability Engineer ensures that the units are meeting their operating reliability metrics and support project work that is coordinated between internal and external engineers of record, vendors, fabricators and contractors to meet project requirements. The role will also be required to act as lead SME role in Root Cause Analysis activities associated with the engines/compressors.Key Responsibilities include:•Develop and implement solutions to operating and maintenance problems.•Determine the root cause of failures and provide solutions.•Interface with operations staff in the support of equipment and operating modifications.•Manage engineering contractors used in equipment modifications.•Review engineering contractor's drawings, calculations and specifications.•Interface with mechanical contractors and machinist to complete necessary repairs.•Prepare engineering calculations, equipment specifications and construction specifications in support of unit rebuilds and repair and station modifications.•Specify bids and prepare bid evaluations for equipment and services.•Interface with supply chain to provide technical guidance for the procurement of material and services.•Provide Compression Reliability Engineering support for project development activities including feasibility studies, conceptual engineering design, and cost estimating.•Develop and/or review engineering drawings and calculations that detail plans and specifications for construction projects.•Develop Compression Reliability Engineer technical specifications and bid documents for detailed engineering, engineered equipment, materials, and construction contracts.•Lead the technical bid evaluation for detailed engineering, equipment, materials, and construction contracts.•Communicate effectively with a vast group of stakeholders to ensure all mechanical technical aspects of the project are completed per the safety, scope, schedule, and budgetary objectives.•Perform shop inspection visits to supplier facilities to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.•Perform field engineering and support the resolution of construction issues.•Support testing and commissioning of new equipment and facilities.•Identify, analyze, and recommend corrective actions to technical issues identified in the field during project execution and/or initial operation.•Assist project management and project controls with the development of project schedules and budgets.•Attend and/or lead project coordination meetings.•Participate in the closeout of projects including turnover of project files and record documents at project closure; capture lessons learned.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSThis Sr. Reliability Engineer may be filled based on the following qualifications: •Bachelor's degree in...
