Position Summary
Greets patients and visitors; answers phone/takes messages; prepares exam rooms; schedules appointments and registers patients; prepares charts; verifies insurance and obtains authorizations; working on referrals; schedules and coordinates tests; retrieves and distributes results to physicians; completes and verifies forms; maintains general filing system; prepares supplies and cleans examination rooms; orders supplies; records patient history; takes chief complaint; takes vital signs, performs and assists with procedures, examinations and treatments; ability to cross cover positions within scope of practice in the clinic.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge normally acquired through a high school education; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in a medical office setting or in a clinical setting performing routine health assessment tests; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. May require experience in the use word processing and database software, a specified medical course such as Nurse Health Aid and Phlebotomy, or Medical Billing and Medical Terminology experience. May require knowledge of electronic medical record and patient scheduling systems.
Medical Assistant Certification required.
Desired Qualifications
Experience working in a clinical-neurology care setting with multiple providers including resident physicians, experience with computer scheduling, patient registration, ability to multi-task and prioritize.

Work Hours
Work hours are typically 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., but can vary as necessary to accommodate clinic operations.
Summary of Health Risks
