Job Description:
Project Engineer, responsible for both short-duration and multi-year landfill engineering and environmental remediation projects ranging in budget from $30,000 to $1,000,000. Works with multi-disciplinary design and construction teams to solve problems in the design, construction, and operation of environmental remediation and waste containment systems. Responsibilities also include: coordination with clients, attending progress meetings, supervising engineers and technicians, and reviewing project deliverables. Depending on job performance, successful candidates may qualify for additional management responsibility.
Other responsibilities include:
- Lead project representative on one or more projects of moderate to large size and complexity.
- Interfaces with clients to maintain a positive business relationship
- Prepares, negotiates, and manages routine projects and monitors the work of subcontractors and/or subconsultants.
- Assists project manager with management and quality control responsibilities.
- Prepares project proposals.
- Participates in health and safety plan development.
- Demonstrates consistent/exemplary safety compliance.
- Writes technical reports.
- Performs technical review of plans.
- May have staff management responsibility for junior-level professional employees, including performance evaluations, training, and other supervisory responsibilities.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
Qualifications include:
- 5 to 10+ years of experience in civil or environmental engineering.
- Must be registered as a Professional Engineer by a state licensing board following NCEES Model Law and capable of registering with additional state licensing boards upon hire.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering.
- Knowledge of state-of-the-art environmental engineering practice.
- Knowledge of environmental systems that incorporate geosynthetic components preferred.
- Organization, written communication, and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and hydraulic modeling software such as Hydrocad preferred.
- Must be able to work constructively in diverse teams including engineers, scientists, technicians, and non-technical personnel.
Additional Requirements:

* Must be able to physically navigate construction sites.
* Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
