The Process Technician Leader is responsible for the day to day operation of their area during their shift and their team’s success in fulfilling their responsibilities to our internal and external customers. This includes meeting safety, 5S, Quality, and Delivery targets. It also includes ensuring their team has the materials, components, and packaging to succeed in meeting these targets.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Start Up and monitor Injection Molding Machine
- Administers first part approvals (FPA’s) at the startup of the job.
- Completes process monitoring log
- Troubleshoots injection molding machine to solve process issues such as flash, shorts, or other poor quality concerns
- Shuts down injection molding machine
- Ensures the correct material is at each press and material is properly identified
- Ensures all components are set up properly and working correctly
- Ensures all packaging and material needed is stocked and ready for use
- Runs injection molding machine at 100% efficiency
- Follows work instructions properly
- Ensures parts are packed properly, per the pack sheet
- Performs 100% visual inspection according to work instructions and control plan
- Understands quality standards in use
- Verify equipment and tools are used according to work instructions
- Records data into real time (RT) stations
- Performs process review audits (PRAs) and layered process audits (LPAs) when needed
- Notifies maintenance department of equipment problems by writing work orders
- Ensures all product is identified, weighed (?), and labelled correctly
- Contributes to a safe work environment for themselves and their team by wearing appropriate PPE and following all safety regulations and policies.
- Completes all secondary tasks assigned by the [reporting manager]
Qualifications and Skills:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Dependable, reliable, and exemplary attendance
- Ability to prioritize work and delegate tasks when needed
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in injection molding or plastics processing field
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Potential for leadership and growth
- Forklift, Lockout/Tagout, & Crane/Hoist licenses required
