Acara Solutions is seeking a talented Project Manager for a direct placement with our client in New Hudson, MI. The right candidate will be extensively providing controls engineering team leadership in the design, programming and debug of electrical circuits, pneumatic circuits, programmable controllers, human-machine interfaces, servo controllers and smart devices to control transport systems, automated assembly systems, test stands and robotic applications. The compensation for this position is between 90 and 120 K annually.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
1. Ultimately responsible for the technical quality and commercial success of assigned projects.
2. Understands customer specifications and objective of the project.
3. Establish and execute the time-line for the project per the customer requirements.
4. Adhere to the project budget, report budget issues back to Executive Management.
5. Update cost to complete in Hirata NAV system
6. Capable of communicating to the various divisions (electrical, mechanical), in the company, and ensuring their understanding of the tasks at hand.
7. Address all of the customer concerns and requirements.
8. Regular reporting of project progress and status to the customer and Hirata management.
9. Manage open issues list internally and with the customer
10. Manage supplier and sub-contractors relations on the project.
11. Participate on all the meetings regarding the project execution and progress.
12. Responsible for the design, manufacturing, assembly, debug, try-out, run-off, teardown, shipment, installation, start-up, and buyoff for all assigned projects.
13. Responsible for the delivery of all the as built drawings, manuals, and documentation to the customer.
14. Manage customer change orders, update project budgets accordingly
15. Conduct all project meetings.
16. Review the overall performance of the project with departmental managers and provide input on how Hirata can make improvements for future projects.
17. Responsible for collecting all payments from customers.
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Eight years experience as a Project Engineer or Project Manager, managing multiple assembly system projects greater than $US5m.
- Experience in automation, assembly, test equipment, design, material handling, and other special machines and systems.
- Proven leadership ability.
- Must understand customer and supplier contract administration.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project and Powerpoint), AutoCAD is a plus.
- Must have the working knowledge of SPC, FMEA, R&M analysis method.
- Must project a professional appearance and attitude.
- Must possess superior organizational skills.
- Good communicator (presentation and technical writing skills.)
- Demonstrated experience holding complex schedules
- Experience with CTC systems, corporate or self-created
- Strong customer relations skills
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Eight years engineering degree in electrical, mechanical, or related field.
