Summary
Manage the CMS Energy Executive Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Council (EDEIC) to guide organizational change and provide focus to DE&I goals. EDEIC includes stakeholders across the company with varying experience levels, including vice presidents and chaired by the CEO. The role is an integral part of the strategic management plan for embedding DE&I throughout the organization and will also offer solutions on how the organization can leverage DE&I to improve organizational performance. As Manager, DEI -- Executive Team Support, the role will also manage DE&I Consultant role(s) assigned to each business group with responsibility of Senior Vice President DEI Action Plan engagement and alignment with DE&I Office. Lead and facilitate bi-monthly Council meetings with all internal business groups to directly align with DE&I Strategy progression. Assist in developing, managing and monitoring both internal and external metrics and indicators to help inform strategic decision making necessary for the future. Serve as a space for cross-functional collaboration and mobilization surrounding DE&I enterprise-wide. Ensure successful execution of Council goals and incorporate consistent reviews into operating review cadence within DE&I. Supervisory support for the DE&I Business Consultant role(s).
Essential Functions
Oversee cross-functional management and development of the company's Executive DEI Council along with direct oversight of DEI Consultants responsible for management of Senior Vice President DEI Action Plans by assigned channels.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage execution of DE&I enterprise-wide strategy within the CMS Energy Executive Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DE&I) Council. Lead and facilitate bi-monthly Council meetings with all internal business groups to directly align with DE&I Strategy progression. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
- Manage DE&I Consultant role(s) assigned to each business group with responsibility of Senior Vice President DEI Action Plan engagement and alignment with DE&I Office. This includes developing and guiding tactical plans for DEI Consultants to support the strategy.
- Assist in developing and managing both internal and external metrics and indicators to help inform the Council and Office of DEI scorecards to support strategic decision-making and prioritization to close gaps.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in DE&I, sharing our strategy and providing coaching to SVP DEI Action Plans and respective team leaders supporting DEI within the business.
- Lead projects to resolve a business gap involving different business units across functions in short time periods.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business Management or similar field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 4-7 years' experience leading cross-functional teams and strong DE&I subject matter expertise
- Problem solving skills and experience using lean tools, including metric scorecard management
- Project management experience, including leading a detailed action plan
- Moderate executive-level communication and presentation skills
- Data informed decision-making and comfort with ambiguity
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Business Administration or similar field
- 7 years' experience leading cross-functional teams and strong DE&I subject matter expertise
- Supervisory experience
