We are looking for a talented Electrical Project Engineer who is responsible for the research, design, development, documentation, and support of electrical systems for precision test equipment, data acquisition and control systems.
Main Responsibilities:
- Creation of electrical schematics using CAD tools
- Selection of components and creation of BOMs in the ERP system (Epicor)
- Technical calculations including full load amps, short circuit amps, conduit sizes etc
- Support of Sales, Operations, and Validation Departments
- Selection, support, programming, and troubleshooting of motor drives/motion control systems
- Documentation including projects, manuals, technical files
- Suggesting Improvements, new designs, and innovative solutions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of science in electrical engineering of similar technical discipline
- 2+ years of related work experience
- Experience with electrical schematics using CAD tools
- Electrical design experience with test equipment or similar is a plus
- Strong communication skills
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Knowledge of instrumentation, transducers, control systems, three phase power systems, motion control, and motor drive technologies
- Engineering and technology: knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services
- Computers and electronics: knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming
- Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Design: Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, drawings, and models
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose root cause failures and formulate solutions
Other:
- Office - This position is located in an office and involves sedentary work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
- Occasion travel may be required, both domestic and international
