Acara Solutions is seeking a talented Electrical Controls Engineer for a direct placement with our client in New Hudson, MI. The right candidate will be extensively providing controls engineering team leadership in the design, programming and debug of electrical circuits, pneumatic circuits, programmable controllers, human-machine interfaces, servo controllers and smart devices to control transport systems, automated assembly systems, test stands and robotic applications. The compensation for this position is between 85 and 120 K annually.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Design electrical and fluid-power control systems to conform to as-sold specifications as described in written sales proposals and kick-off meetings.
Perform on-site leadership in the start-up and debug of above systems in Hirata facilities and customer plants as required.
Understand and apply a detailed knowledge of customer design and build specifications and specific project requirements based on past experience and customer supplied documents.
Proactively identify potential design risks and take appropriate steps to mitigate risks as necessary.
Provide completed designs that meet high quality standards, cost targets, and schedule constraints. Review and approve design work of Controls Engineers or subcontract labor to ensure that company engineering standards are maintained.
Interface with and provide support to all operational departments including (but not limited to) Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, Service and Support groups. Assist these groups as needed to ensure mutual success.
Interface with customers" technical leadership in a professional manner.
Manage personal and controls team schedules and provide regular reporting of project progress and status to the customer, Hirata program management and senior management.
Participate in project review meetings regarding the project execution and progress. Lead controls engineering team meetings to ensure that team deliverables are met.
Participate in Lessons Learned meetings and apply historical program data to continually improve engineering designs on future programs. Provide feedback on new techniques and latest technologies to ensure that company controls designs lead the industry.
Participate in the training and continual improvement of Controls Engineers as assigned by the Controls Engineering Manager
Required Skills / Qualifications:
10+ years experience designing machine control systems for automotive applications.
10+ years experience designing electrical schematics with AutoCAD.
10+ years experience designing fluid power schematics with AutoCAD.
10+ years experience programming and debugging machine control code
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
A bachelor"s degree in a related engineering field or equivalent experience.
