DEPARTMENT SUMMARY
As a member of the Customer Operational Performance team, this position provides significant ownership and support to assigned business partners specifically related to internal goals around process optimization and automation. The individual in this role will be a critical member helping the Customer Experience and Customer Operations teams achieve success in waste elimination through the development and deployment of process optimization and automation principles.
JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Process Optimization and Automation lead will work with stakeholders to identify opportunities, perform process optimization analyses, and ultimately connect with technical resources to identify automation solutions. This position will work in conjunction with another team member to project manage these initiatives through our internal process to ensure that we are able to deliver waste elimination and human struggle hour savings.
This position will analyze and measure the effectiveness of existing business process and will work with the business partners to develop sustainable process improvements, including an automated solution when applicable.
Essential Functions
The major functions of this role include:
- Conduct weekly working sessions with business partners to identify opportunities
- Manage opportunity backlog - including creation of opportunity one pagers
- Update visual management for leadership on weekly and monthly basis
- Partner with Technical resources to understand scope and requirements of projects
- Facilitate the identification and completion of technical testing
- Partner with internal resourcing to understand the long-term maintenance of automation solutions
- Build comprehensive process lifecycle documentation
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICIATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, or Technical discipline
- 7-8 years of work experience in the field or in a related area.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities at a leadership level
- Lean certification and/or experience with process improvement methodologies
- Able to work cross-functionally spanning business partners and IT
- Experience informally leading cross-functional teams
Preferred qualifications
- Lean certification and/or experience with process improvement methodologies
- Project management experience/certification (PMP)
- Agile methodology
Hours and Travel
- Requires the individual work 40 hours per week with time spent in the office at our Jackson (One Energy Plaza) location or remote
