Position: Receptionist/Data Entry
Reports to: Clinic Manager/Providers
Job Summary: The Medical Receptionist is a vital part of the clinic; they are the “first impression” of the health system. The receptionist will greet patients by phone or in person with kindness and respect; by scheduling appropriately they will optimize both patient satisfaction and provider time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Treat all patients and associates with respect, dignity, and provide professional service to them in a timely, polite and considerate manner.
- Greet patients, vendors, pharmaceutical representatives, and other visitors to the medical office.
- Answer patient questions and provide assistance and directions when necessary.
- Field all phone calls that arrive using our general office number.
- Reconcile daily cash flow and prepare bank deposit.
- Utilize medical office software to schedule appointments for patients.
- Register new patients and update necessary records.
- Distribute forms and paperwork to patients and then check them over to ensure that required fields are completed appropriately.
- Process patient payments in office.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient records.
- Manage inventory of necessary office supplies and coordinate reordering.
- Ensure that the waiting room environment remains quiet, calm, and welcoming.
- Uphold the positive reputation of our medical office by always treating visitors in a friendly, welcoming, and compassionate manner.
· Process medical records request.
· Verify insurances.
· Ensures all paper reports are scanned into the EMR in a timely manner.
· Collaborate with the provider/manager to ensure accurate document location in the EMR
· Update health histories in EMR
· Process all medical records requests in a timely manner.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
