Summary
The weld / robotic engineer is responsible for finding the most cost-efficient and safest process along with designing, programming and testing system for optimal usage.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Managing workload by setting priority of work orders
- Works with build team and customer to create positive relationship
- Update open issues lists, analyzing project issues and provide support determining the best solutions
- Assists Project Manager and Welding Engineer by completing tasks assigned on a specific job
- Follow customer requirement specifications and customer documentation
- Follows company timelines and job specific timelines to successfully complete the job
- Completing onsite installation and buyoff of equipment at customer’s facility
- Maintaining comprehensive project documentation
- Follow all company safety protocol
Qualifications
- Ability to read, interpret, and implement mechanical, weld and electrical prints
- Able to help identify and solve problems related to welding and automated machines
- Ability to carry out written or oral instructions
- Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects
- ABB Robot programming with Robot Studio, Tune Master, Application Setup, troubleshooting
- Fanuc Robot Programming with Robo Guide, Application Setup, Troubleshooting
- Ability to set up, programming and troubleshooting welding equipment
- Resistance weld using WTC weld control and RAFT software
- MIG weld using Lincoln, Miller and Fronius equipment
- Familiar with weld destructive testing on MIG (preferred Paxit software) and Resistance welds
- Develops welding techniques, procedures and applications of welding equipment to solve problems
- Offline Robot programing using Delmia 3D Experience preferred
- Use an objective approach toward decision making
- Ability to maintain a good relationship between the company and customer

Reporting Structure
This position has no supervisory responsibility and will report to the Jeff Toth the Welding Manager.
Physical Work Conditions
The physical demands required to successfully perform the job are as follows.
- The employee will need to be able to stand, walk, sit or kneel
- The employee will need to be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- The employee will need to be able to read, write, hear and talk
- Proper personal protective equipment must be worn when required
Education Required/ Preferred
- High School Diploma
- Trade school or related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and training
- Welding experience in RSW, GMAW and DAW on a variety of low carbon and high strength steels and Aluminum
- 1-3 years’ experience
- BS Welding Engineer (preferred)
- Robotic welding experience, ABB and Fanuc preferred (Preferred)
- 2-5 years’ experience (preferred)
