We are looking for a talented Buyer who will be responsible for purchasing the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in correct amounts while ensuring proper timing and quality for the organization.
Main Responsibilities:
- Research and evaluate vendors, based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the vendor’s reputation and history.
- Works with suppliers to continuously improve quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and support.
- Monitor the marketplace for assigned commodities to analyze pricing trends, technology advancements, and potentially new, cost-efficient alternatives
- Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives
- Participates in continuous improvement activities that may include developing programs to improve supplier performance.
Create, monitor, and process purchase order requisitions, purchase orders, and requests for quotations
Analyzes the requirements of the commodity, including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier, and date commodity is needed
Create relationships with external vendors to provide the highest quality material at the lowest possible cost and ensure on-time deliveries.
Interact with the departments on a regular basis in order to communicate parts available, incoming parts, returns, etc
- Adherence to company policies.
- Adherence to LINK quality process and procedures and identify continuous improvement opportunities implementing through our quality system.
- Be a role model and advocate of the LINK culture that is consistent and emphasizes the identified mission, vision, and values of the organization.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field or a related Associates degree with 2 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment purchasing experience or proven equivalent related work experience
- Planning and organizational skills with an ability to handle a multitude of projects required
- Demonstrated experience being highly motivated and self-directed
- Experience working with ERP systems (Epicor preferred)
- Strong experience with the Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel

Other:
- This position is located in an office and involves sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
