Department Summary
The Information Governance Internship is geared towards current college students who are earning a degree in Information Sciences or other related field that aligns with the skill sets included in this job description. We are also looking for those who have a passion for learning the inside workings of a large utility company within the energy industry.
Job Description/Responsibilities
Working with the business departments on their Total Information Management (TIM) migration activities including the mapping and transposing of those mapping documents via common excel formulas. Creating standard template deliverables (word documents/excel spreadsheets/others) and job aids showing how to use them. You will work with the team to define standard processes and the controls to ensure the high-quality process outputs and effective outcomes. Working with the team to expand the functional footprint of OpenText usage in CMS (see traits). This includes self-guided instruction on the platform and how to configure its functionality.

Requirements/Qualifications
Enrolled and actively pursuing an associates or bachelor's degree in Information Technology from an accredited university as a full time or part time student. A successful candidate should have a GPA of 2.7 or higher.

MS Excel experience
Browser savvy (Chrome, Edge and Internet Explorer)
Proficient working with various computer systems that support Graphical User Interface standards

Finance experience or understanding

The location of the internship may vary depending upon assignment and travel within the State of Michigan may be required. However, during this time of uncertainty, we are committed to ensuring the safety and health of our communities and co-workers. Essential Functions
In addition to working alongside full time employees carrying out the internship functions for Consumers Energy, Information Governance Interns will have the option to participate in a number of additional optional events within the program. This includes intern networking events, company tours, and the consistently top-ranked philanthropic event, the Intern Challenge.
Hours and Travel
This position requires the individual to typically work 40 hours per week with 85% of the time spent in the office or specific field locations.
