CRM Platforms Engineer
Position Summary
The CRM Platforms Engineer will work as part of the MSU IT enterprise CRM team, contributing to the long-term success of the university’s enterprise CRM implementations by leading the design, implementation and operation of the CRM landscape. Works closely with the MSU IT enterprise CRM team, campus business partners, stakeholders and CRM vendors. Will contribute to the creation of a CRM roadmap that will be used to direct prioritization, forecasting, development and ensure realized value to the university.
The person in this position will contribute to the overall strategy, design, execution and operation of the CRM landscape at MSU, including platform governance, integration design and supporting tools that support university business needs and advance MSU’s mission of Education, Research and Outreach.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as primary lead for the enterprise CRM landscape
- Participate in the development of conceptual and logical architectures
- Create solution documentation and keep up to date with changes in production
- Facilitate governance conversations as a part of the CRM Advisory Group
- Provide advice on best practices and approaches to technology teams and internal business clients
- Resolve integration and interfacing issues between systems (API) or other plug-ins
- Assist with regular internal system audits and prepare for upgrades
- Report on and guide the implementation of quarterly feature releases
- Coordinate the evaluation, scope, and completion of new development requests
- Assist in training of new employees and grow the CRM skill set across the organization
- Perform project related tasks as assigned

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program; and five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in an information technology area related to the duties to be performed, including experience with large, complex or critical information technology projects; experience managing multiple timelines and priorities; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with implementing, integrating or operating a distributed software system. CRM (i.e. Salesforce, Slate, Siebel, Mura) administration and/or development experience would be beneficial. Firm understanding of web application analysis and design, integration design and data interoperability. Experience or aptitude in developing, governing and operating a technical implementation roadmap.
