Transmission Calibration Engineer (Powertrain)
For this position, you would be responsible for:
- Delivery of high quality calibrations from start to finish of new programs, developing and calibrating/validating new features, developing methodologies and tools to support analysis and verification, working with cross-functional teams to ensure that program requirements are met on time, as well as troubleshooting and developing solutions to issues as they occur.
- Playing an integral part for developing the customer driving experience as well as optimizing fuel economy.
- Developing and releasing transmission calibrations (shift schedules) for automatic transmission applications, performing hands-on in-vehicle calibration development work, supporting test trips to verify proper transmission operation across operating conditions and other assigned powertrain development activities.
- Working with in-vehicle test instrumentation, ETAS-INCA calibration tools and mathematical analysis tools.
- Transmission clutch control and/or drive strategy calibration.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent from an ABET accredited University.
- 3-5 years of experience in emission systems calibration development.
- 3-5 years of Matlab, Simulink, Data Acquisition or Excel.
- Travel up to 20%, including some international travel to Canada / Italy **
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a Master of Science in Computer Science preferred from an ABET accredited university.
- Hardware ‘In the Loop’ development/verification Database management.
- Experience with Matlab, Simulink, Data Acquisition, Excel highly preferred
- Hands-on engine repair
