Job Description
This position is responsible for the operational strategy for the Operations Organization (distribution, generation & compression). This includes responsibility for business planning & current year performance to achieve our breakthrough performance. This position is called upon for all high visibility issues and all escalated deliverables. The scope of influence is significant in this role, via strong communication with across the workforce; IT partners; MPSC regulators; & the Senior Leadership team. This team is counted on to drive transformative sustainable change.
The candidate will succeed by partnering with executive leaders to shape strategic thinking and structure effective execution plans. The candidate is expected to partner with cross-functional business teams and drive successful business planning & execution, benchmarking and best practice research. This role will be responsible for leading executive initiatives & must be a strong collaborator, recognized for building credibility, commitment and energy within the team, Operations and across the organizations (TEOS, Customer, finance and IT partners).
Responsbilities
- Manage process to develop & monitor of the strategy for the Operations and Engineering Departments. Including the strategy update process, business plan deployment, development of organizational scorecards and creation of the business units' operating plans
Engage with Senior Leadership at The Company to develop and to align performance goals across the Organization and departments
Responsible for the development of business cases that enable improved company results. Demonstrate partnership with IT, Financials and Operating departments for positive business outcomes.
Oversee the creation of artifacts, such as plans, metrics, team and stakeholder communications, resource requirements and schedules for successful task completion
Requirements
- Associates Degree - Less than may be acceptable if accompanied by extensive Company or industry experience in positions that demonstrate required abilities and performance.
- 6-plus years of job-relevant experience, inclusive of business analytics functions exhibiting a progressive work history

- Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Finance, Accounting IT, Engineering or related knowledge
- Knowledge business analytics or related
- Lean Certification or similar experience working in a lean environment
- Strong lean background with hands on experience applying lean tools (lean thinking, A3's, PDCA, value stream mapping, waste reduction, standardized work, lead time reduction, process standardization).
- Problem solving techniques (RCA, five why, cause and effect diagram, pareto, Value stream mapping).
Essential Functions
Business Support Advisors and Consultants support the planning, business analysis, general management, budget preparations and analysis, negotiations, transactions, customer services and auditing of a wide variety of business functions and processes of specific operating and support areas throughout the Company. Duties and who this individual report to will fluctuate between projects, departments and offices. Lead and/or assist with business analysis and support for the plans, reports, impacts, contracts, schedules, estimates, data collection, observations, and field investigations. Provide business analysis and support services with accuracy, on time and under budget. Use computer assisted applications software and equipment to prepare business analysis support documents. Understand and follow Company established standard procedures for file structure and standard procedures for projects. Become familiar with business and department and Company plans and related material for each project and be able to utilize the information appropriately. Assist in client contact and communication. Utilize effective communication skills to answer inquiries from coworkers, clients, or the public. Public involvement may include producing reports, graphics, presentations, and other visual material as well as occasional speaking or meeting with stakeholders. Attend internal and external meetings. Provide business analysis and support services in a legal and ethical manner. Individuals should exemplify safe work practices and follow the Company's compliance standards. Regular attendance is expected.
Hours and Travel
This position will be in a remote setting. May require to meet with and calibrate with teams in a physical office. This position may require the ability to travel between field locations. This position may include nights and weekend/holiday timeframes.
