Eisenhower Center is launching an innovative, first of its kind, program for Veterans and their families at Selfridge ANGB in Harrison Township. We will be relocating, rehabilitating and reintegrating veterans and their families. Clients and their families will be provided with counseling and additional supportive therapies. Veterans will also have access to vocational education and rehabilitation. Eisenhower is looking to employ a compassionate and experienced multi-disciplinary team to improve overall Veteran cognitive, emotional and physical wellbeing.Develop artistic care plan to Veterans suffering from variety of mental/behavioral health issues such as TBI, PTSD, anxiety, depression, OCD, personality disorders, substance use, etc. Will encourage and evaluate therapeutic art techniques to assist clients in improving their cognitive, emotional/mental, and physical wellbeing. Will collaborate with multi-disciplinary treatment team to integrate individualized treatment plans.QUALIFICATIONS:•Must have valid Michigan license•Master’s degree in Art Therapy or Counseling with additional coursework in Art Therapy from accredited university•MAAT or LPC with appropriate certification through ATCB, appropriate Michigan Board licensure•Preferred - minimum 1 year clinical experience with art therapy JOB RESPONSILITIES:Directs art group activities and therapeutic art process/techniques through drawing, painting, sculpting and clay modeling.Assesses client needs using drawing, painting, sculpting or other artistic processes and formulates recommendations for therapy.Based on clinical judgement will develop art therapy sessions to encourage client self-expression.Discuss clients’ work with them to evaluate underlying meaning, cognition and emotions.Collaborates with client and family and other health care/community providers, to encourage understanding of the impact illness/condition has on the client’s emotional and mental/behavioral health.Collaborates other health care/community members to develop individualized plan of care to incorporate art therapy with counseling/psychotherapy techniques.Assist client with establishing objectives and goals for art therapy sessions.Coordinate art showcases to display client artwork.Coordinate fieldtrips to art galleries, museums or other public displays of art showcase.Organizes and recommends appropriate art supplies or equipment necessary for program.Demonstrates working knowledge of medical health diagnoses/terminology and DSM-5 Diagnostic Criteria.Observes and documents client reactions, progress and outcomes related to therapy.Document services and client progress in accordance with facility policies and procedures.Participate in staffings, team conferences and other clinical and staff meetings.Prepares client progress reports as needed.Develop appropriate discharge plans of care with multi-disciplinary team to provide individualized continuity of care and follow-up which promote rehabilitation, symptomatic stabilization, and recovery.Develop and enhance clinical expertise. Demonstrate awareness of current evidence-based research, literature and professional consensus regarding art treatment strategies.Demonstrate adherence to state practice acts and codes of ethical professional conduct in all spheres of clinical practice.Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain-maintain appropriate clinical privileges.Provide orientation and clinical supervision to art therapy students. Serve as a mentor to less experienced clinicians.Demonstrates adherence to work rules that incorporates disciplinary actions with HIPAA regulations.Demonstrates knowledge and adherence to HIPAA policy.Perform other duties that may be assigned.Eisenhower Center is an EEO employer – Veterans/Disabled and other protected categories.
