Job Description
In this newly created role, the selected candidate will create and manage an enterprise-wide Corrective Action Program (ECAP). We are looking for a leader with a strong interest in, commitment to and strategic vision for improving performance, processes and technology for the safety of our employees, customers and communities we serve.
Specifically, the Director of Enterprise CAP will:
- Create and manage an Enterprise CAP that includes the capture, evaluation and analysis (including root cause analyses) of failures, incidents, nonconformities, and other problems across the enterprise; the development and completion of corrective and preventative action plans; monitoring and trending; and the overall coordination of related activities for the enterprise.
- Provide vision, strategy, and goals for the overall mission and direction of the Enterprise CAP. This position will be instrumental in assembling and training the new Enterprise CAP support team; deploying the program to the organization and in driving adoption and usage throughout the Enterprise.
- Oversee the phased roll-out of the program, and will ensure consistent people, process and technology solutions are developed to meet corporate expectations across all Lines of Business.
- Upon conclusion of implementation, the Director will ensure the program is meeting operational goals and will work with the team to refine and enhance the effectiveness of the enterprise corrective action program. The Director will be expected to develop working partnerships with the leadership of all Lines of Business identified to engage for ECAP.
- Champion and socialize the Corrective Action Program at all levels of Executive Leadership, and chair the Enterprise CAP Governance, which include Senior Executives who provide oversight, guidance and approval for ECAP policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate servant-style leadership while leading an organization of approximately four employees, as well as matrix line of business employees.
The ability to engage at all levels of Executive Leadership using data models, analysis and causal evaluation is key in this role, along with a track record of building key relationships across the organization. Ability to facilitate continuous improvement efforts to drive predictable and repeatable performance.
Requirements
- 10+ years related experience, which includes 5+ years leadership experience managing people, managing the design, development and implementation and governance of a corrective action program
- 2+ years of experience in quality control, quality assurance and or quality management programs
- BA/BS in Business, Finance, Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience leading enterprise-wide programs with aggressive change management
- Experience leading effective teams with resources that do not directly report in his/her operating structure
- LEAN or Six Sigma expertise, including experience with human error prevention tools, causal evaluation techniques
- Risk, Audit and/or Compliance experience through proven results delivering performance improvement

Hours and Travel
Time will be spent in the office, headquarters or specific field location (indoors & outdoors). This position will require the ability to travel between field locations and for other related business travel. This position may include nights and weekend/holiday timeframes or in an emergency response situation. Corporate office environment; occasional travel (air, rail, and car) to other sites/locations, which may include generating plants.
