Summary: The Material Specialist 2 is responsible for working to stage and supply the Boom Line with materials, as needed. Orders are picked using an RF scanner and the appropriate material handling equipment. (Hi-lo, picker, and cart). The Material Specialist 2 rotates and maintains boom components in a FIFO manner. The individual will review Bill of Material lists for accuracy, addressing issues or discrepancies with the appropriate persons. The Material Specialist 2 is also responsible for completing assembly and all work that comes out to the VST area, ensuring work orders are completed and closed on time.
Essential Functions
Prioritize boom line orders to be picked according to schedule and customer demand.
Accurately and efficiently perform picking tasks using the appropriate material handling equipment (hi-lo, picker, cart) and lifting techniques
Maintain proper FIFO of boom components.
Place picked items in the staging area and prioritize with the proper flag.
Effectively monitor boom bays, moving empty carts into the staging area and new jobs into the bays, according to priority.
Research and report all issues and errors according to procedure.
Process parts requisitions for needed materials.
Perform daily/weekly cycle counts of boom components, as assigned; reporting discrepancies on inventory sheets.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Actively participate in CI projects and events, sharing ideas for improvement.
Cross train in all functions of the materials area.
Demonstrate a willingness to help outside the material area when instructed.
Additional related duties, as assigned.

Education/Experience
High School diploma or equivalent, with ambition to further education relevant to job demands.
MHE experience. RF scanner experience highly preferred, but not required. Prior experience picking for an assembly area.
Technical Knowledge
Minimum of 1-3 years of material handling experience.
General understanding of distribution is preferred.
Understanding and experience with basic hand tools and power tools.
Skills
Basic computer skills, e-mail (Outlook).
Prior use of an ERP system is desirable.
Certifications
Ability to attain forklift, (hi lo) and picker license.
Physical Requirements
Exerting up to 100lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 50lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 20lbs of force constantly to move objects.
