Position Summary
Responsible for tutoring students individually or in small group sessions to enable them to become independent and successful, self-directed life-long learners.
Primary tutoring responsibilities include assisting students with their preparation for core clerkships as well as for the USMLE Step 1 or Step 2 Clinical Skills or Clinical Knowledge exams utilizing a coaching or goal-directed coaching model.
Tutors typically meet with an assigned student either face-to-face or utilizing technology (e.g., Skype or Zoom) for one or two hours weekly. The tutoring schedule and meeting times are determined by the tutor and student.
This position reports to the Office of Academic Achievement in the College of Human Medicine and supports campuses in East Lansing, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Midland, Flint, Southfield, Traverse City, and the Upper Peninsula.
Minimum Requirements
1 or more years of teaching and/or clinical teaching experience.
Desired Qualifications
MD, DO, Ph.D., or Ed.D degree
