Tenneco is one of the world’s largest pure-play powertrain companies serving OE markets worldwide with engineered solutions addressing fuel economy, power output, and criteria pollution requirements for gasoline, diesel and electrified powertrains.
The responsibility of this position is to coordinate the R&D activities of new ceramics to advance the level of technology within the ignition business. Responsible for interfacing with manufacturing facilities, suppliers, and the customer to develop our long-term technical strategy and to resolve technical issues on current products.

Required Skills
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recognized as a technical expert
- Management/knowledge of current ceramic material portfolio
- R&D of future ceramic materials and components
- Develop knowledge and expertise in the field of ceramic and glass use for ignition components.
- Maintains/creates technical presentations regarding specific areas of expertise (customers, sales, etc.)
- Maintains and develops the patent portfolio related to ceramics
- Maintains engineering and process standards/specifications
- Maintain intimate knowledge of applications, materials, designs (Tenneco and competitively), the marketplace, and trends in the industry affecting the product.
- Part of a cross functional team (R&D, Application Engineering, Process Engineering, Sales)
Required Experience
EDUCATION:
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 years ceramics experience with testing/analysis in a lab setting (during education).
- Management experience is preferred but not required.
